We have new openings for entry-level direct support professionals at our Hattie Larlham Group Home in Uniontown. Preferred candidates will have a high-school diploma or GED. Selected candidates who pass the drug test and criminal records check will receive the appropriate (free) training to become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) on our staff. At Hattie Larlham, we are committed to caring for children and adults with severe or profound developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our compassionate and dedicated staff focuses on creating a nurturing environment in which individuals have opportunities to learn, have fun, feel safe and loved, and make choices about what happens in their lives. We are seeking entry-level candidates that possess the compassion required for this important position. 

Full-time and Part-Time Positions Include:

  • First Shift: 6am - 2pm
  • Second Shift: 2:00pm-10:00pm 

Must have a high school diploma/GED. Hattie Larlham requires criminal background check, fingerprinting and post-offer drug screen. Must be able to lift and position people with developmental disabilities. Must have valid Ohio driver's license, meeting driving requirements. This position is required to transport people with developmental disabilities. 

We will be offering a 6-month Stay Bonus to all current DSPs employed at the Boettler Road - ICF Group Home (Boettler Home) who will commit to remain continuously employed at Boettler through February 28, 2019. Individual Stay Bonus amounts are based on the employees hours hired to work/week.  All Stay Bonus amounts are listed in the table below.

The purpose of this Stay Bonus is to offer incentive to employees who are in the Boettler DSP position to stay with us while we work to fill our vacant DSP positions over the next six months and to say "thank you" for your dedication.  To aid in recruitment, a Stay Bonus will also be offered to newly hired DSPs at the Boettler Home beginning August 24, 2018 as incentive to remain employed with Hattie for a minimum of 6-months. This benefit is intended for those employees hired to work in the Boettler DSP position as their primary position only and excludes employees in other facilities who float to Boettler Home DSP. Guidelines for the Stay Bonus are as follows:

 Stay Guidelines:

  • Employee is continuously employed through the 6-month Stay Bonus period.
  • Employee cannot resign or submit notice of resignation in the 6-month Stay Bonus period.
  • Stay Bonus may increase or decrease pro rata as a result of a change of status (i.e. full-time to part-time) in the 6-month Bonus period.
  • Stay Bonus is paid in the first full pay period following completion of the 6-month Stay Bonus period.
  • Bonus is taxable employment income.
  • Employees in the "Seasonal PRN" job class (who typically work 1 – 4 weeks per year) are not eligible for the Stay Bonus.
  • Only those employees whose primary position is DSP at Boettler are eligible for the bonus.
  • Employees who transfer to the DSP position at Boettler after August 24, 2018 and prior to 12/31/18 (as a primary position) are eligible for the applicable (hired) bonus after 6-months.
  • Approved FMLA and Worker's Compensation is considered worked time during the 6-month Stay Bonus period.
